Learn about Young Showstoppers (grades 1-5)

 

Who Is Eligible?

Any young performer in grades 6-8. A select number of 5th graders may be accepted at the discretion of the director.

 

Rehearsal Schedule:

Mondays 5 - 6:30pm* 

*Rehearsal time may be extended 30-60 minutes for choreography sessions once per month. Advance notice will be provided.

 

September 19 - March 19

No rehearsal October 31, November 21, December 19, December 26, January 2, January 9, January 16.

 

Rehearsal Location:

Regular rehearsals will take place at St. John Lutheran Church/School (formerly the Wheaton Bible Church building); corner of Union and Main Streets in Wheaton, just south of Franklin Middle School. Please use the main entrance door for arrival and dismissal.

 

Performances:

• Special Guest Stars in “Broadway OUR Way” NOVEMBER 4, 5, 6 2011

Produced by The Community House in Hinsdale and Dick Johnson of NBC 5 News

• GOT TALENT! Show Choir Clinic hosted by Julie Petrando and the Cadence Show Choir of Hinsdale (January 21 or January 28--all day)

• 2 local concerts for friends and family

• 1 Community Outreach Performance

Local concerts and outreach performance will likely be scheduled on Monday nights.

Tuition:

Tuition includes professional instruction, materials/music, performance costume, and rehearsal shirt.

• $670 if paid in full by September 9 NOW!  Only $600 for new members.

• Payment plans may be available upon request

• $20 processing fee for registrations received after September 9

Not included in tuition are personal necessities (performance undergarments for girls, performance shoes, etc.).

EXCITING OPTIONAL Add-On:

Participation in “Disney Performances”--a performance experience and workshop for show choir programs at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL!

• Dates TBD

• 3-night weekend, tentatively scheduled for April 19-22 (departing after school on April 19)

• Friends and Family are welcome to join us

• Participation is optional and would cost approximately $1,000/performer

• Cost would include airfare, meals, lodging, and park tickets

• January 21--GOT TALENT! Show Choir Workshop in Hinsdale, IL (12noon-8:30pm)

• February 17--Competition in El Paso, IL

• March 18--concert

• April 19-22--Disney Trip (optional)

We have ADDED a COMPETITION to our schedule:

• Friday, February 17 - El Paso Invitational El Paso HS (near Bloomington/Normal) Charter bus ride and tons of fun!
